Terms of use — Card games
1. Who offers the games
Davide Pergola

The card games are published under the name One Boat Games. Today they are Briscola and Scopa; these terms apply to all of them. By playing you accept them; if you do not accept them, do not use the games.
2. What they are
They are traditional Italian card games, free, played in the browser, on a phone or a computer. In each of them you can play against the computer at five levels, or online with other people: as two, three or in pairs.
Online, if no other person is free within a few seconds, the game may start against an opponent played by the computer, as close as possible to your own strength. That game counts like any other, for experience and for your Elo rating.
The games are in beta: they are fully playable, but we are still polishing them. They may contain mistakes, and screens and features may change from one update to the next.
An Internet connection is needed to play, including against the computer.
3. No money involved
They are a pastime and nothing more. There is no betting and nothing to win: no prizes, no stakes, no chips to buy and no virtual currency. Level, experience and Elo rating measure how you play and have no monetary value: they cannot be bought, sold or traded.
The games are free. The browser version may show advertisements beside the table; how data is handled in that case is explained in the privacy policy.
4. The profile for playing online
To play online you need a profile. Playing against the computer needs no profile.
- With friends (a match with a code) you can play without an account too: at your first match the game opens an anonymous profile, tied to that game and that device, with an automatic name that cannot be changed.
- To take on players from around the world, the online match with the rankings, you sign in with your Google or Apple account and choose a username, unique among all players. Linking the account makes the anonymous profile yours, and you find it on every device by signing in with the same account.
- A linked profile is one for all the card games: with the same account you find it in Briscola and in Scopa. Name, avatar, experience and level are shared; the Elo rating belongs to each game.
- An anonymous profile can only be found on the device where you opened it: if you clear the site’s data or uninstall the app before linking it, you lose it.
- You get the profile back through the Google or Apple account it is linked to: if you lose access to that account, we cannot give you the profile back any other way. Profiles opened before 28 September 2026 with a recovery code keep working, and to take on players from around the world they are linked to Google or Apple from the game.
- The profile is personal: do not sell it or hand it over.
- You can ask for it to be deleted at any time, as the privacy policy explains.
5. Your name and how you behave at the table
Other players see the name you choose. Do not use offensive, vulgar or discriminatory names, names that pretend to be someone else, or names that contain someone’s personal details.
In online matches you may not:
- use programs, bots or automation that play for you or suggest your moves;
- exploit bugs in the games to win or to disrupt other people’s matches;
- arrange things with other players to rig results or ratings;
- try to overload the servers, get round their limits or reach data that is not yours.
If a profile breaks these rules we may change its name, reset its results or suspend it, without notice where that is needed to protect other players. A linked profile is one for all the games, so the measure applies to all of them.
6. Intellectual property
The One Boat Games name, the games' code, graphics, text and sounds belong to the publisher of the games, except for the playing cards. The traditional designs of the regional decks are in the public domain; each deck keeps its own licence, and the authors and licences are listed in the Website terms, in the section “The cards in the card games”.
You may play, take screenshots and share them. You may not copy the games, resell them or publish a modified version of them.
7. Availability
We do our best to keep the games reachable, but we cannot guarantee it: the servers may stop for maintenance, faults or causes beyond our control, and an interrupted online match may be lost. We may change a game, suspend it or stop offering it at any time.
8. Liability
The games are free and provided as is, with no warranty that they are error-free or always available. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for damage arising from using them or from their interruption. This does not limit liability the law does not allow to be excluded, nor any rights the law grants to consumers.
9. Children
The games are not specifically designed for children under fourteen. If you are under fourteen, play online only with a parent’s permission.
10. Privacy
How personal data is handled is explained in the card games privacy policy, published on oneboatgames.com alongside these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated, for example when a game changes or a new one arrives. The version in force is the one published here, bearing the date shown at the top. If a change is significant we say so on the games' page.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
Italian law applies. For disputes with someone playing as a consumer, the court of the consumer’s place of residence or domicile has jurisdiction; otherwise, the courts of Milan.
13. Contact
For questions about these terms, or to report unfair players or inappropriate names, write to info@prgspace.com.
14. Language
These terms are a translation of the Italian original, which is also published on oneboatgames.com. If the two versions differ, or if anything here is unclear, the Italian version prevails.
