Word game · iPhone

Find the words. Save the stories.

Drag your finger across the grid to uncover hidden words on themed boards, follow an illustrated story chapter by chapter, take on the puzzle of the day or race the clock in Arcade. Five spare minutes or a whole quiet evening: it works either way.

Modes

Four ways in, depending on the day

The same game underneath, four different moods.

1

Story

Chapters that open one at a time, with stars to say how cleanly you closed a level.

2

Challenge

A different grid every day, and a month of squares to fill in.

3

Arcade

Levels that keep getting harder, and a countdown that never stops.

4

Play

Endless boards where you pick the grid and the theme, for when you just want to play.

How it plays

Words hide in every direction

Drag your finger over the letters: horizontal, vertical, diagonal, forwards or backwards. The list at the top ticks itself off as you go, and when a word will not come there are three different hints waiting at the bottom, each with its price in coins.

The story

Find out what Elysa finds

Words are beginning to disappear from the world, and Elysa is one of the few who notice. Between one grid and the next an illustrated scene moves the tale on, in a world of villages and hand-copied books where writing still counts as sacred.

Arcade

Here the clock is the opponent

Levels that get harder one after the other, and a countdown that keeps running through all of them. Every run ends on a number, the level you got to, and that number is the one to beat the next time you open the app.

Words are starting to disappear from the world, and Elysa is one of the few who notices.

Play in English or in Italian

Wordkeeper carries a hand-picked collection of English and Italian words, and the language of the app, of the words and of the story are three separate settings: you can read the interface in one and hunt words in the other. Colourblind mode, high contrast and the size of the letters on the grid adjust too.
